I stole this tune from two butcher birds that were calling and answering each other outside my window in Bondi. Glenn plays the first call on flute and Alan answers on flugelhorn. The first four bars is exactly what the birds were singing, including the very hip flat 5 note at the end. They have the most beautiful and pure flute-like calls I’ve ever heard. Unfortunately for the butcher birds in question, they can’t read or write, so I’ll have to take any royalties for them, ha ha ha!
